TO STEAL A MAN'S FREEDOM ALL IT TAKES IS . . . CONVICTION
Wade Darling stands accused of killing his wife and teenage children as they slept before burning the family home to the ground. When the case lands on barrister Neve Harper’s desk, she knows it could be the career making case she’s been waiting for.
But only if she can prove Wade’s innocence.
A matter of days before the case, as Neve is travelling home for the night, she is approached by a man. He tells her she must lose this case or the secret about her own husband’s disappearance will be revealed.
Failing that, he will kill everyone she cares about until she follows orders.
Neve must make a choice – betray every principle she has ever had by putting a potentially innocent man in prison, or risk putting those she loves in mortal danger.
For fans of Steve Cavanagh, Linwood Barclay and Gillian McAllister, introducing the latest novel from the master of the moral dilemma, Jack Jordan.
Do you hear that??? Silence…
Jack Jordan’s Conviction = *mic drop*
WHAT.A.BOOK!
I have stayed up way too late to finish this book because wow! The intensity of this book would not let me go! I was hooked completely as we watched Neve unravel as she defends a man in court. Oh my, give me a courtroom drama book ANY DAY! They are my favourite after horrors. This book just blew everything out of the water. I felt like I was in the jury box, watching the trial. I had no idea who to believe and what clanger would be next.
I had no idea if Wade was innocent or not, but that’s not what we had to worry about here. We had to worry about Neve’s actions. She definitely flits to the dark side, but at the same time, I had no qualms about watching her do that despite the repercussions for other people. So wrong!
I was obsessed with this book, by god it’s a fabulous book! you need to read it! It was a gripping read, and it doesn’t let go of you once you start. It was so intense and you feel every emotion from every character. It is a book that is nowhere near as straight forward as you first might expect.
What a book!
Until the next time xxx
