Publication Day: 5th October 2024
As the nights draw in, gingerbread lattes and festive hot chocolates are on the menu, and the Little Duck Pond Café girls are gearing up for the cosiest time of the year.
But new recruit Laurel just wishes she could sleep through the whole jolly affair!
It might be October, but she’s still haunted by the events of last Christmas.
Could a new start in Sunnybrook help to heal her heart?
MY REVIEW
Aw what a lovely addition to the series and so lovely to see Liam and Marcus and Annalise, even Primrose. Some of the characters I had briefly forgotten so I re-read some of the blurbs to get a quick refresh. They all put a smile on my face.
Gosh Laurel was humiliated. She was treated so poorly by people who should be protecting her. It showed the ugly side of addiction too, and it’s done with respect and facts. Laurel is a character that I loved straight away. She’s hurt and hurting, she now has trust issues and she has started afresh. She has so much strength that she doesn’t realise. Josh, what a cutie! I mean a snow sofa anyone!! I wanted one!
I love that with each book Rosie has a new sting to each character. The twist that came wasn’t the one I was expecting and when it landed, when that name came up on the page, I was swearing! I mean WTF! I love that despite the book being a HEA book, the twists and turns are never the same, love never runs easy and why should it?
I have had my little slice of sunshine which I needed right now. I didn’t cry this time, but it still was a gorgeous story in the snow. I am looking forward to Maddie’s story, and will have my tissues ready, especially after the bombshell we aren’t supposed to know!!!! Eeek.
Roll on December <3
Until the next time xxx
Thank you so much to Rachel @ Rachel’s Random Resources for the tour invite and a copy of the book in return for my honest and unbiased review.
About Rosie Green
Rosie Green’s Little Duck Pond Cafe series of novellas is centred around life in a village cafe and most can be read as stand-alone stories. (‘The Sunshine Sisters’ is a trilogy within the Little Duck Pond Café series and it would benefit from being read in order: Aurora, Skye and Blossom.) Look out for ‘Cosy Nights & Snowball Fights’, and ‘Maddy’s Christmas Wedding’, both out later this year in time for the festive season!
