I killed a man. Maybe he deserved it. 

I served my time.

But someone out there thinks I didn’t pay enough.

Now I’m back in Mendex, Wyoming. The town that remembers everything. The town that hates me.

I keep my head down. I go to work. I go to AA. I don’t ask for forgiveness. Especially not from Mikey — my ex. 

But then Mikey shows up again. So does a stranger with green eyes and a story that doesn’t quite add up.

And just when I think I might be okay — might almost be free — someone starts watching me.

Not across the room.

Not from a parked car.

From outside my bathroom window.

They know what I did.

They know things I never told anyone.

And now, blonde women — women who look like me — are disappearing.

I thought I left the nightmare behind me.

I didn’t.
