The human behind
Zooloo's.
Book lover. Horror fan. Watford supporter.
Mum, blogger, author and professional juggler of far too many tabs.
Basically… there's quite a lot going on.
From Watford to the
White Cliffs.
I'm originally from Watford, but after moving around with my husband while he was a soldier, we eventually settled by the White Cliffs of Dover.
By the cliffs. Not on them.
Because that would be a bit crazy.
Somewhere along the way, a lifelong love of books turned into blogging, writing and, eventually, Zooloo's Book Tours.
A few things that are very me.
Books. Obviously.
I've been book blogging at Zooloo's Book Diary for years. Reading has always been a huge part of my life — and horror will forever have a special place.
I write them too.
I'm also a published author. My debut, Ouija, is YA horror — think Point Horror and Goosebumps. Which probably tells you quite a lot about me.
Watford FC.
Yes, voluntarily. 😂 If I'm not surrounded by books, there's a fair chance I'm sitting in the cold cheering on Watford.
Films & live music.
Give me a good film or stick me at a gig and I'm happy. Preferably after I've remembered everything else I was supposed to be doing.
Family chaos.
When I'm not working, blogging, writing, reading or running Zooloo's, I'm usually being kept firmly on my toes by my husband — who is basically another child — my little spitfire of a daughter and our three crazy cats! Most weekends, if I'm not at the football, you'll find me watching the same spitfire racing down the dry ski slope.
Decaf tea.
The fuel behind an alarming number of tabs, spreadsheets, book posts and ideas that seemed perfectly sensible when I started them.
Reader first.
Everything else followed.
Before the tours, before the spreadsheets and before Zooloo's became what it is now, I was simply someone who loved books and loved talking about them.
That's still the bit underneath everything. I read, I blog, I write, I get ridiculously excited about books — and apparently I built a business around it.
No AI writing here.
I don't use AI to write my posts, reviews or Zooloo's content. If you read something from me, it came from me — the rambling, the jokes and, occasionally, the typo too.
